Retta R. Andrews

Retta R. Andrews, 70, of Grand Island, died Sunday March 25, 2007 at St. Francis Skilled Care.

Graveside service will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday in the Parkview Cemetery at Hastings.  The Reverend Steve Warriner will officiate.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Thursday at All Faiths Funeral Home in Grand Island.

Mrs. Andrews was born on May 24, 1936 at Minden, NE the daughter of Harold and Sadie (Schneider) McAtee.   She was raised and received her education at Hastings graduating from Hastings High School in 1954.  As a young woman she sang on radio and television in Hastings.  She was united in marriage to Merrill Andrews on November 19, 1956.  They lived in Hastings until moving to Grand Island in 1972.

She enjoyed scrap booking, spending time on the computer and crocheting. 

Her husband Merrill preceded her in death.

Survivors are a son and daughter-in-law Randy and Sherrie Andrews of Grand Island and daughter and son-in-law Carla and Bill Belgum of Lincoln.

Those also left to cherish her memory are grandchildren Brian Detweiler, Jana Detweiler, Jordan Andrews, Tyler Andrews and Justin Andrews.

In addition to her husband, her parents and a sister LaVone Warren preceded her in death.

Memorials are suggested to the donor’s choice.
