Belmudez
Eli Belmudez, 75, of Grand Island, died Tuesday – January 23, 2007 at St. Francis Medical Center.
Services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church in
Grand Island. The Reverend Don Rodriguez will officiate. Burial will
be in the Grand Island Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. Friday at All Faiths Funeral Home.
Eli was born January 24, 2007 at Kearney the son of Jose and
Francisca (Castaneda) Belmudez.
Eli was raised and received his education in Kearney. He served in the Nebraska Army National Guard. He was united to Frances Figueroa in 1972. They lived for 5 years in Omaha before making Grand Island their home. Eli was a carpenter by trade.
He was a member of the Templo Cristo La Roca Church in Grand Island. Eli enjoyed gardening, carpentry, and reading and was active in his ministry at the church. He loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Frances, daughter Lydia Empfield of Lincoln, brothers Steve, Daniel and Tom Belmudez, sisters Esther Guerra, Beatrice Arellano, Freda Hernandez, Rebecca Hadley, Helen Belmudez, two brothers-in-law; Angel Figueroa, Lt. Col. Daniel Figueroa, and grandchildren Cameron, Adyn and Zackariah.
His parents, a brother Joe Belmudez and sisters Ruth Belmudez and Pauline Garxiola preceded him in death.
