Minnie
D. Bruhn
Minnie D. Bruhn, 89, of Wood River, died Wednesday, February 14, 2007,
at St. Francis Medical Center.
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Grand
Island. The Reverend William Pavuk will officiate. Cremation will take
place following the services. Burial of the cremated remains will be
in the Grand Island Cemetery at a later date.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. Monday until service time at the church.
All Faiths Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Minnie was born April 7, 1917, at Alda to William and Dora (Nissen)
Luth.
She grew up in the Alda area on the family farm and was educated at
District 6 School.
Minnie married Wayne Bruhn on May 9, 1941 in Kearney. They farmed in
the Wood River – Cairo area all of their lives.
She enjoyed sewing, playing cards and attending country music concerts.
She especially enjoyed spending time with her family.
Minnie was a member of St. Pauls Lutheran Church and the Platt-Duetsche
ladies society. She also enjoyed playing cards at the Cairo Senior Center.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne, on April 7, 1983; and
a son, Patrick, on October 2, 1947.
Those left to cherish her memory are one son, Dennis of Wood River;
three daughters and one son-in-law, Janice Holt and Rogene Steiner of
Grand Island, and Pat and Bud Stoeger of Dannabrog, one brother, Bill
Luth of Myrtle Creek, Oregon; and two sisters, Helen Shipman of Adams,
NE , Elsie Lilienthal of Grand Island, 6 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and infant son, she was preceded in death
by her parents; and two brothers, Lawrence and Clarence.
Memorials are suggested to St. Pauls Lutheran Church or the family’s
