Ann Buck, 72, of Grand Island died Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2007, at St. Francis
Skilled Care.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in the Gollaher Chapel of Trinity
United Methodist Church. The Rev. Jay Vetter will officiate. Burial will
be in the Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday at All Faiths Funeral Home.
Mrs. Buck was born Aug. 7, 1935, at Palmer to Paul and Bernice (Burkman)
Ewers.
She was preceded in death by a son, Michael Joseph Buck.
Survivors of the immediate family include her husband, Kenneth; three
sons and a daughter-in-law, Paul Buck, Robert "Bob" and Dawnita Buck,
all of Grand Island, and Steven Buck of Pacific Grove, Calif.; her mother
of St. Paul; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Arlene Jepson of St. Paul
and Cindi and Mark Mendyk of St. Paul; and two brothers and a sister-in-law,
Gene Ewers of Russell, Kan., and Paul "Dick" and Vickie Ewers of Grand
Island.
Those also left to cherish her memory are 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Her father also preceded her in death.
Shirley was raised on a family farm south of St. Paul. She attended
School District 53 in Howard County and graduated from St. Paul High
School in 1953. She taught in rural school in Howard County from 1953-1954.
She was united in marriage to Kenneth L. Buck on July 12, 1954, at Holyoke,
Colo. They resided in St. Paul until 1956, when they made their home
in Grand Island. She was employed by Holiday Inn, Woolworth-Woolco and
then went to work for Sears, retiring in 1989 after 15 years.
She was an active member of Trinity United Methodist Church, United
Methodist Women and Sears Retirees Group. She worked for many years in
the church nursery. Shirley enjoyed caring for children.
Memorials are suggested to Trinity United Methodist Church or American
Cancer Society.
