Vernabell
Cornelius, 85, of Grand Island died Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2007, at St. Francis
Medical Center.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at All Faiths Funeral Home.
The Rev. Carl Black will officiate. Burial will be in the Grand Island
City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Cornelius was born Dec. 24, 1921, at Gibbon to Sherley and Della
(Freeze) Livingston.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Cornelius, on Oct. 10,
2006.
Survivors of the immediate family include two daughters and sons-in-law,
Carolyn and Robert Heinen of Grand Island and Diane and Dave Spotanski
of St. Libory; three sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Ellie Cornelius,
Richard and Kathy Cornelius, all of Grand Island, and Michael and Colleen
Cornelius of Ravenna.
Other survivors are 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents;
brothers, Wayne Livingston and Sherley Livingston Jr.; and a sister,
Inez Juett.
She was raised on a family farm, receiving her education at Wood River.
She married Jerry Cornelius on June 29, 1948, in Omaha. They farmed near
Chapman, Ravenna and St. Libory. Following her husband's death, she moved
to Grand Island to live with her son and daughter-in-law.
Vernabell enjoyed cooking, embroidering, flower gardens and spending
time with family.
Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association.
