A. Dankert
Earl A. Dankert, 77, of Grand Island died Saturday Aug. 18, 2007, at
home following an illness.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church.
The Rev. Royce Rinehart will officiate. Burial of his ashes will be at
a later date in Cairo Cemetery.
There will be no visitation. All Faiths Funeral Home is in charge of
arrangements.
Mr. Dankert was born Feb. 23, 1930, at Merrick County to Arthur and
Alice (Hamann) Dankert.
Survivors of the immediate family include his wife, Donna Dankert; a
son, Terry Dankert of Dallas; a daughter and son-in-law, Carmen and Vincent
Seaman of Bermuda; and a sister and brother-in-law, Loretta and Virgil
Becker of St. Paul.
Also surviving are nieces and nephews.
Earl was raised on the family farm near Dannebrog. He was united in
marriage to Donna Lee Hargens on July 11, 1954.
He served in the United States Army from 1953-55.
They farmed most of their life in the Dannebrog area until he retired
in 1977 when they moved to Grand Island.
He loved to travel and play cards, but his first love was family, friends
and farming. He was a gentle person who loved his Lord.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, the Platt-Duetsche and American
Legion Post 0119 of St. Paul.
His parents, a sister, Marion Schultz, and a sister-in-law, Beverly
Harders, preceded him in death.
Memorials are suggested to Trinity Lutheran Church.
