Marie Jeane Freese

Marie Jeane Freese, 85, of Grand Island, died Monday March 26, 2007 at St. Francis Medical Center.

Marie Jeane FreeseServices will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Grand Island.  There will be a family prayer at 10:15 a.m.  The Reverend Royce Rinehart will officiate.  Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. 

 Visitation will be from 3-7 p.m. Thursday at All Faiths Funeral Home in Grand Island.

Jeane was born October 24, 1921 at Hastings, NE the daughter of Jacob and Elizabeth (Lofing) Sittner.  She was raised and received her education in Hastings graduating from Hastings High School in 1939.  She worked for the U.S. Naval Department. 

On March 14, 1947 she was united in marriage to Harold Freese in Hastings.  They lived in Hastings and Lincoln before moving to Grand Island in 1950. 

She is a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, the church’s Ladies Aid and the eager to learn bible study group.  She enjoyed sewing, reading, dancing, being around people and loved laughter.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband Harold, daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Jeff Kellogg of McAllen, Texas and Janet and Reed Stockman of Monticello, Iowa, brothers Walter Sittner of Juniata, Nebraska, and Donald Sittner of Hastings, Nebraska and sisters Doris Wigert of Hastings, Nebraska, Sarah Wright of Medford, Oregon and two grandsons Justin Kellogg and Dillon Stockman.

Her parents, brothers Adam Sock and Jacob Sittner, and sister Dorothy Rhodes preceded her in death.

Memorials are suggested to Heartland Lutheran High School.
