Lyda R. Huff

Lyda R. Huff, 91, formerly of Grand Island died Saturday September 29, 2007 at the Exeter Care Center.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the Gollaher Chapel of Trinity United Methodist Church in Grand Island.  The Reverend Del Roper will officiate.  Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 3-7 p.m. Tuesday at All Faiths Funeral Home in Grand Island.

Lyda was born February 19, 1916 at Sargent, Nebraska the daughter of Joseph and Mollie (Cochran) Walters.

Lyda graduated from Ravenna High School in 1934.  She was united in marriage to Loren Huff on June 9, 1946.  They made their home in Grand Island.

She is a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, serving as a volunteer for many years, United Methodist Women; Grand Island Women’s Club, EZ Dozit Extension Club and belonged to camping clubs.  She was a dedicated caregiver, enjoyed gardening, camping, cooking and dancing.

Lyda went to be with her Lord on Saturday, September 29, 2007.

Those left to cherish her memory are her three sons and daughters-in-law; Dr. Gaylen and Barbara Huff of Friend, NE, Terry and Deborah Huff of York, NE, Noel and Deborah Huff of Omaha, NE. ten grandchildren; Dr. Jason and his wife Cindy Huff, Dr. Shelley Huff, Clinton Huff, Casey Huff, Courtney Huff, Spencer Huff, Tyler Huff, Ethan Huff, Emily Huff and Mitchell Huff.  Her husband Loren died May 17, 1990. 

In addition to her husband, her parents, a sister Luella Smith, a brother Virgil Walters and an infant brother preceded her in death.
