John Phillip Kurtz

John Phillip Kurtz, 63, of Grand Island died Saturday, Dec. 29, 2007, at his home.

Mr. Kurtz was cremated and his ashes will be buried in the Fort McPherson National Cemetery near Maxwell.

There will be no local services.

All Faiths Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Kurtz was born Aug. 14, 1944, at Omaha to Ernest and Melva (Hoff) Kurtz.

Survivors of the immediate family include four brothers, James Kurtz of Ocala, Fla., Jerry Kurtz of Stockbridge, Ga., Ernest Kurtz of Chicago and Martin Kurtz of Millard.

John graduated from Omaha South High School in 1962. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War from 1965-1968. Following the military, he lived in Texas and Nebraska moving to Grand Island three years ago.

He loved music, playing the piano, organ and guitar.
