Helen L. McCown

Helen L. McCown, 80, of Grand Island, died Thursday, May 31, 2007 at her home..

Services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at All Faiths Funeral Home.  Burial will be in the Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.

There will be no visitation.

Helen was born July 31, 1926 at Oconto, NE the daughter of Claus and Estella (Porter) Buck. Helen was raised and received her education in Oconto graduating from high school in 1943.  She moved to Grand Island working for the Cornhusker Ordinance Plant.

She is a member of the Eagles Auxiliary, enjoyed life, spending time with grandchildren, and had a wonderful sense of humor. 

Those left to cherish her memory are children and their spouses, Carolyn and Jim Anthony of Grand Island, Kathy and Richard Goding of Curtis, NE, Chuck and Becky Oxner of Hermosa Beach, CA, Joyce and Chuck Haase of Grand Island and Sherry Allen of Grand Island, a sister Frances Curren of Broken Bow, NE, 17 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.

Her parents, a brother, 3 sisters, and granddaughter Michelle Goding preceded her in death.

Memorials are suggested to St. Francis Hospice.
