Lillian Morledge

Lillian Morledge, 88, of Grand Island, died Thursday September 27, 2007 at the Grand Island Nebraska Veterans Home.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at All Faiths Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will be in the Grand Island City Cemetery with military honors.

Lillian was born October 11, 1918 at Bromptonville, Canada the daughter of Clovis and Lawrence (Savoie) Turgeon.

Lillian graduated from Manchester West High School in 1936.  She attended Woreston City Hospital in 1939 and Charles Chapan Hospital in Providence, Road Island.  She entered the United States Army Nursing Corp serving from 1942-1945 and was in the European Theatre.  Following her marriage to J. D. Morledge they resided in Grand Island.  She worked as a registered nurse in hospitals, did private nursing and served as Director of Lakeview Nursing Center.

She is a member of First Presbyterian Church and Order of the Eastern Star.  Lillian enjoyed reading and playing bridge.

Her husband John Morledge preceded her in death on May 4, 1989.

Those left to cherish her memory are a son Micheal J. Morledge of Grand Island, and daughters Rheita Schmer of Grand Island and Patricia Eihusen of St. Petersburg, Florida and grandchildren, Alecia Smith, Brad Thomsen, Jason Morledge and Ashley Rogers.  Her husband John Morledge, her parents and sisters, Yvette Tillson and Rheita Proux preceded her in death. 

Memorials are suggested to the Central Nebraska Humane Society.
