Darlene
Roush, 80, of Grand Island, died Monday-April
30, 2007 in Sherman County as
a result of a car accident.
Memorial services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Trinity United Methodist Church. The Reverend Onamae Waddel
will officiate. Burial of her ashes will be in the Grand Island City Cemetery.
There will be no visitation. All Faiths Funeral
Home is in charge of arrangements.
Darlene was born August 21, 1926 in Hamilton County the daughter of Roy and Hilma (Ortegren)
Luthy. Darlene was raised on the family farm attending school in Aurora, NE. She went to work for Northwestern
Bell before being united in marriage to Virgil Roush on September
12, 1948 in Grand Island.
Together they established Kingswood Estates. They
owned and operated Kingswood Estates until 1978.
She is a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, the church’s Ruth Society, and Daughters
of the Nile in Hastings, the Cosmopolitan
Club for 48 years, a founding member of the Cornhusker RV Club and
a member of the Newmar RV Club. She enjoyed volunteer work,
baking, gardening, fishing, camping and traveling. For many
years she and Virgil traveled to Mexico doing
mission work.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband Virgil,
three daughter and sons-in-law, Deborah and Carl Tesmer of Grand
Island, Diane and Don Lewis of Centennial, Colorado, and Patricia
and Rick Johnson of Grand Island and a brother and his wife, Norman
and JoAnn Luthy of Aurora, NE and grandchildren and their spouses,
Trudy and Kevin Rothrock, Tracy and Jeff Gannon, Tyler and Leah Tesmer,
Tarah Tesmer, Logan Lewis, Danielle Lewis, Hayley Johnson, Mitchell
Johnson and Ali Johnson and great grandchildren, Kathryn Rothrock,
Ticen Rothrock, Jady Gannon and Gage Gannon.
Her parents, brother Deroice and great granddaughter
Sara Rothrock preceded her in death.
Memorials are suggested either to the Trinity United Methodist Church, the Daughters of the Nile or to the family’s choice.
