Harold "Dutch" Seim“Dutch” Harold Seim, 89, of Grand Island, died Sunday ~ January 14, 2007 at Beverly Health Care at Lakeview in Grand Island.
Visitation will be from 3-7:00 p.m. Wednesday at All Faiths Funeral Home in Grand Island. He was born March 21, 1917 in Merrick County the son of John and Clara (Giesenhagen) Seim. His wife Loraine preceded him in death on July 31, 2005. Harold was born on March 21, 1917 in Merrick County, Nebraska the son of John and Clara (Giesenhagen) Seim He was raised on the family farm near Worms graduating from the Zion Lutheran School in Worms. He served in the United States Army from April 1941 to November 1945. Mr. Seim was united in marriage to Loraine Renken on January 26, 1943 in Tacoma, Washington. In July of 1946 the couple moved to Grand Island where Mr. Seim was employed by REA as a foreman lineman. He worked for REA (Southern Power) for 36 years retiring in 1982. Mr. Seim was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, VFW, Elks and the Liederkranz, and was active with the Association of Retarded Citizens. Harold loved his Christian faith and will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor. Those left to cherish his memory are his sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Jane Seim of Grand Island, Tom and Kathy Seim of Stone Mountain, Georgia, John and Kathy Seim of York, Nebraska and Ronald Seim of Minden, Nebraska, a brother Alton Seim of Portland, Oregon, a sister Lenora Kasworm of Rupert, Idaho,ten grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. In addition to his wife, his parents and one brother preceded him in death. Memorials are suggested to St. Paul’s Lutheran or MOSAIC. |
