Doris Gene Snyder

Doris Gene Snyder, 89, of Alma, NE, died Monday, July 2, 2007, at Colonial Villa in Alma.

Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday at All Faiths Funeral Home in Grand Island.  Reverend Onamae Waddel will officiate.  Burial will follow in Grand Island City Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday at All Faiths Funeral Home.

Mrs. Snyder was born April 6, 1918, at Phillips, NE, to Frank and Bessie (Thurston) Adelade.

She grew up and attended school in Phillips, where she graduated from Phillips High School.

Doris was united in marriage to Donald F. Snyder on May 28, 1938.  She was employed by Overland National Bank and then First National Bank as a bank teller until she retired. The couple resided in Grand Island and upon retirement moved to Republican City.

Those left to cherish his memory are her son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Pat Snyder of Grand Island, a sister Willa Mae Houghton of Yacima, WA. and four grandchildren, Dan Snyder, Jeremy Snyder, Jenny Snyder and Megan Snyder and a great-grandson, Talon Snyder.

She was preceded in death by her husband Donald Snyder in 1998, her parents, a brother and four sisters.

She was a member of the Methodist Church and the American Legion Auxiliary.

Memorials are suggested to the Nebraska Children’s Home in Omaha.
