Michael
Samuel Sorahan, 65, of Grand Island,
died Wednesday September 12th at St. Francis Medical Center.
Memorial Service will be 7:00 p.m. Monday at All Faiths
Funeral Home Chapel. Chaplain Colleen O’Neill will officiate. Family
will be greeting friends one hour before service time.
Mr. Sorahan was born January 25, 1942, at Concord, CA the son of Thomas and Lila (Wald) Sorahan.
Mike received his education at Blessed Sacrament, Central
Catholic and Grand Island Senior High. He was employed at the
Grand Island Nebraska Veterans Home for the past 20 years. He
had been on sick leave the past ten months fighting a heroic battle
against cancer.
Mike will be remembered for his love of children. He
remained a kid at heart with his favorite game being hide and seek. Big
Mike will be remembered for his quick smile, handshake, “young
lady”-“young man” greetings and his “Can-Do” attitude. He
will be missed by many.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 42 years
Kathy; son and daughter-in-law Mark and Shelly, and a daughter Michelle
Sorahan all of Grand Island; his mother Lila Sorahan of Grand Island;
brothers and sisters-in-law, Tom and Jan Sorahan, Len and Pam Sorahan
and Kathy Sorahan; sisters and brothers-in-law, Pat Geiger, Nancy
and Bob Sliva, Jeanie and Ray Stryker, Kay and Keith Kelly, and Phyllis
and Mike Smith; grandchildren, Cory, Melissa, Andrea and Patrick
Sorahan, Dani Terrazas and Lacey Slocum; great grandchildren; Gaby
and Rosie Ramos, Adrian, Leticia and Kiahna Trejo; many nieces and
nephews and an abundance of friends.. He will also missed by
his favorite puppies, Honey Bunny, Maggie Doodle and Sassy Jo.
He was preceded in death by an infant brother, his father
and brother Tim.
A memorial fund will be established in his memory.
