Marvin Dean Struthers

Marvin Dean Struthers, 78, of Grand Island, died Wednesday August 8, 2007 at Tiffany Square.

Services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday at All Faiths Funeral Home in Grand Island.  There will be a Committal Service at Evergreen Cemetery in Omaha at 2:30 p.m. Monday with Masonic Rites by the Beehive Lodge #184.

Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. Sunday at All Faiths Funeral Home in Grand Island.

Marvin was born September 7, 1928 at Exira, Iowa, the son of George and Gertrude (Reason) Struthers.

Marvin was raised as a child in Iowa, moving to Omaha in the eighth grade, receiving his education in Iowa and Nebraska, graduating from South High in Omaha in 1948.  He entered the United States Navy Reserve on April 12, 1947.  He was honorably discharged on April 11, 1952, at Omaha.  He married the love of his life Betty Lorraine Kidder on October 16, 1948.  Following their marriage they lived in Omaha, Ralston, Yutan and Grand Island.  Marvin was employed by Ruser Feedlots and Sperry New Holland, retiring in 1987.

He was a member of the Bee Hive Masonic Lodge in Omaha.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Betty L. Struthers, daughters and sons-in-law Lynn and Daryl Green of Baird, TX, Sandy and Lynn Budde of Phillips, three grandchildren and their spouses, Doug and Maggie Stednitz, Leigh and Kyle Schmidt, and Dorie Budde and her husband Jason King; great grandchildren, Marissa, Ciara, Keller, Calton and Dante.

His parents, brothers Keith and Monte Struthers and sister Debra Whitney preceded him in death.
