Lucille
Elsie (Rauert) Thesenvitz, 84, of Edgewood Vista in Grand Island, died Tuesday August 7, 2007 at
St. Francis Medical Center.
Services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Messiah Lutheran Church. The Reverend Harold Stromer
will officiate. Burial will be in the Grand Island Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. Friday at All Faiths
Funeral Home.
Mrs. Thesenvitz was born March 6, 1923 northwest of Grand
Island to Charles and Elsie (Seim) Rauert.
Survivors of the immediate family include a son and daughter-in-law
Dave and Edel Thesenvitz of Broomfield, CO; two daughters and sons-in-law,
Rena and Steve Kjar, Kathleen and Ed Hurley, all of Grand Island;
a sister Edna Boltz of Grand Island, a brother and sister-in-law,
Ralph and Wava Rauert of Rapid City, SD; two sisters-in-law, Esther
Rosacker and Wanda Rauert both of Grand Island.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years,
Raymond on December 20, 2006.
Other survivors are seven grandchildren, Diana and Steve
Kelly, Tom and Heather Thesenvitz, Jerry Kjar, Dean Kjar, Mark and
Laurie Kjar, Keith and Kristin Hurley, and Betsy Hurley, and eight
great grandchildren.
Lucille attended school at District 18 and Grand Island
Senior High. She was united in marriage to Raymond E. Thesenvitz
on September 12, 1943.
They farmed in the Cairo and
Dannebrog area until 1956 when they moved to Grand Island. Lucille was employed at
Kaufman’s, Yardstick Fabric Shop, and Singer before retiring.
She enjoyed traveling, camping, fishing, playing cards,
sewing, and many types of crafts.
Lucille was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church, Messiah Senior Aid, Family Campers
and RV’ers, Golden Trailblazers Camping Club, Platt-Duetsche
Ladies Society, and past member of Valley View Extension Club.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her
parents, two brothers Art Rauert and Elmer Rauert; two sisters and
brothers-in-law, Irma and Victor Bosselman, and Alvira and Charles
Baasch.
