Agatha "Sandy" M. Turk

Agatha “Sandy” M. Turk, 80, of St. Paul, NE died Tuesday July 17, 2007 at the Howard County Hospital. 

Christian Wake Service with a Rosary will be 7:00 p.m. Sunday at All Faiths Funeral Home Chapel in Grand Island.  The Reverend Raymond M. Kosmicki will officiate.  Mrs. Turk’s wishes were to have her body donated to the Nebraska Anatomical Board.  Burial of her ashes will be at a later date at Ft. McPherson National Cemetery near Maxwell.

There will be a time of gathering of family and friends from 6-7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Sandy was born June 23, 1927 at Naponee, NE the daughter of Joseph and Ann (McCracken) Schneider.  She was raised and received her education in Grand Island where she graduated from St. Mary’s Catholic School.  On June 15, 1948 she was united in marriage to Norbert Turk at Grand Island.  They lived in Grand Island, farmed near St. Libory until 1982 before moving to Nevada and Wyoming.  They moved to St. Paul, NE in 2002. 

She was retired from Northwestern Bell Telephone after 25 years.  She is a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in St. Paul. 

Survivors are her husband Norbert, sisters Patricia Schneider of New Jersey, Esther Morgan of New Jersey and Kathryn Kalkowski of Las Vegas, Nevada.

Other survivors are a sister-in-law and her husband, Zita and Jim Noonen of Omaha.

Her parents and a brother LeRoy preceded her in death.

Memorials are suggested to either St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church or donor’s choice.
