Karen J. Borgmann

Karen J. Borgmann, 57, of Grand Island died Tuesday, July 1, 2008, at home following a courageous seven-month battle with cancer.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Messiah Lutheran Church. The Rev. Harvey Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in the Grand Island Cemetery.

Because of the July 4th holiday, visitation will take place from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday at All Faiths Funeral Home.

Mrs. Borgmann was born Aug. 11, 1950, at Ord to Louis and Helen (Klapal) Pesek.

Survivors of the immediate family include her husband, Art; a daughter and son-in-law, Lori and Lynn Reimers of Boelus; and a brother and sister-in-law, Gene and Peg Pesek of Grand Island.

Other survivors are a cousin, Sharon Whiteman of Colorado Springs and numerous other cousins.

Her parents preceded her in death.

Karen received her education at Comstock, Ord High School and graduated from Grand Island Senior High, class of 1968.

She was united in marriage to Arthur Borgmann on May 15, 1971, at Grand Island. They made their home in Grand Island, where she worked for Wheelers/Country General for over 20 years until its closing and then went to work for the Hall County Attorneys office.

Karen enjoyed crocheting, camping, the outdoors, cooking and making kolache
's. She is a member of Messiah Lutheran and the ZCBJ Lodge 112 at Ord.
