Michael
A. Carreon, 34, of Conyers, Ga., formerly of Grand Island, died Saturday,
April 19, 2008, in Conyers as a result of medical complications due to
a leg amputation in December 2006.
Services
will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Cathedral in Grand
Island. The Rev. Tom Ryan will officiate. Burial will be in Westlawn
Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at All Faiths Funeral Home, with
a parish rosary at 7.
Mr. Carreon was born Aug. 22, 1973, at Grand Island to Manuel and Susan (Grudzinski)
Carreon.
Survivors of the immediate family include his parents; two sisters and brothers-in-law,
Lisa and Deryne Eastman of Aurora and Maria and Genovevo Morales of Grand Island;
and his wife, Robin of Conyers, Ga.
Other survivors include his four nieces, Merissa, Molley and Miranda Eastman
and Angelica Morales; aunts, uncles, cousins and numerous friends, including
special friends, Michael "Merve" Retterling, "Chuckles" and "Rawoo."
Michael was preceded in death by his grandparents, Leonard and Agnes Grudzinski
Sr.; uncle, Don Grudzinski; grandmother, Teodora Carreon; aunt, Delores Fierro;
and special friend, Jay, who died in Iraq.
Michael received his education through Grand Island Public Schools, where he
was active in Show Choir. He received his GED from Southeast Community College
in 1992 and attended Hastings Community College, majoring in broadcasting.
He was united in marriage to Robin (Harris) on April 29, 2006, in Conyers.
He received his sacraments at St. Mary's Cathedral in Grand Island. During
his youth, he served as an acolyte for several years.
Michael's hobbies included all sports, especially the Chicago Cubs, Scooby
Doo, U2 and Christian music. He was an aspiring chef, loved reading, writing
poetry and had a deep love for his nieces.
Memorials are suggested to the family.
