Jack
Randall Clark, 69, of Grand Island died Friday, Oct. 10, 2008, at St. Francis
Medical Center.
Memorial services will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday at All Faiths Funeral Home
Chapel. The Rev. Tim Rust and Dan O'Neil of Abundant Life Christian
Center will officiate.
The family will receive friends after 6 p.m. Tuesday at All Faiths Funeral Home.
At Jack's request, there will be no public visitation.
Mr. Clark was born Sept. 13, 1939, at Harmon, Va., to William and Olive (Wright)
Clark.
Survivors of the immediate family include three brothers and sisters-in-law,
James Harvey and Bonnie Clark of Pleasant Garden, N.C., William 'Button' and
Debbie Clark of Virginia Beach, Va., and Ronnie and Dale Clark of Richmond, Va.;
and fiance Susan Cassidy of Grand Island.
Additional survivors include numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Jack graduated from high school in Alamance, N.C. He later graduated from
the University of California at the age of 18. Jack then joined the U.S. Navy,
serving on the naval destroyer/tender U.S.S. Dixie for two years alongside his
brother, Ronnie. Jack then attended flight school at Pensacola Naval Air Station,
becoming a commissioned pilot. As a lieutenant, the Navy sent him to the
University of California Medical School, from which he received his medical degree.
Jack later continued on active duty as a pilot, serving in Vietnam. Upon his
discharge from the Navy, he had a private medical practice for a brief time in
California. In 1983, Jack moved to Grand Island and was employed by Nova-Tech
Inc., until beginning his own business, Clark Biotechnology Inc., in 2004. He
continued to operate his business in spite of numerous bouts with cancer until
his last day of work on Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2008.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the
American Cancer Society.
