Thaine
Emahizer, 91, of Aurora died Saturday, April 12, 2008, at Aurora Memorial
Hospital.
At
Mr. Emahizer's request there will be no services. All Faiths
Funeral Home of Grand Island is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Emahizer was born Feb. 20, 1917, at Dresden, Kan., to Berte and
Susie Emahizer.
Survivors of the immediate family include four sons and daughters-in-law,
John and Pam Emahizer of Aurora, Jerry and Shelly Emahizer of Scott
City, Kan., James and Sharrie Emahizer of Colby, Kan., and Robert
and Rhonda Emahizer of Bakersfield, Calif.; and a daughter and son-in-law,
Jean and Tom Robben of Castle Rock, Colo.
Other survivors are 13 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Hazel Runge.
He was raised on a family farm near Dresden, Kan., and attended rural schools.
He entered the U.S. Army on Feb. 5, 1941 serving during WWII. He was honorably
discharged on Nov. 3, 1945.
He married Dorothy Gilbert on June 20, 1956. He lived in Ludell, Kan., before
moving to Oberlin, Kan., in 2000 and Aurora in 2007. He worked construction and
for elevator companies.
He is a member of the American Legion.
