Marie Lewandowski
Irene Marie Lewandowski, 79, of Grand Island, died Monday,
February 25th at her home.
Services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday at the Abundant Life Christian Center in Grand Island. Reverend Tim Rust will officiate. Burial
will be in the Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at All Faiths
Funeral Home.
Irene was born October 10, 1928 at Farwell, Nebraska the daughter of Edward and Helen (Czapla)
Waltman. She grew up on a family farm near Farwell attending
school in Howard County. She
was united in marriage to Al Lewandowski on June 28, 1949 at Paplin. They
lived in Sargent, St. Paul, and Farwell
before moving to Grand Island in 1977. She
was a homemaker until 1977. She then was employed at the Lutheran Hospital and then went to work for the
school system as a cafeteria worker in 1980 retiring in 1994. The
last seven years she was cafeteria manager at Walnut Junior High.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband Al,
daughters and sons-in-law, Julie Rawlings and her husband Fred Hoppe
of Lincoln, Alison and Pat Larson of Grand Island, sons and daughters-in-law,
Loren and Barb Lewandowski of Grand Island and Scott Lewandowski
and his wife Heather Strait of Lincoln, and brothers and sisters-in-law,
Robert and Dolores Waltman of Farwell, Larry and Dorothy Waltman
of Omaha.and grandchildren, Dustin and Nicole Lewandowski, Kiel
Lewandowski, Jordan Rawlings, Ashlee Rawlings, Whitney Rawlings and
fiancé Josh Dietrich, Karlie Rawlings, Andrew Rawlings, Hudson
Lewandowski, Ethan Larson, Elijah Larson and great grandson Jack
Lewandowski.
She is preceded in death by her parents and daughter
Lisa Lewandowski.
