Harold
A. Luebbe, 91, of Grand Island died Sunday, June 15, 2008, at Good Samaritan
Hospital in Kearney.

Services
will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at St. Pauls Lutheran Church. Burial will
be in Grand Island City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at All Faiths Funeral
Home.
Mr. Luebbe was born Nov. 1, 1916, at Grand Island to August and Lillie
(Moeller) Luebbe.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon Kay Luebbe.
Survivors of the immediate family include his wife of 67 years, Irene;
a son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Carolyn Luebbe of Grand Island;
a daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Bob Sander of Holdrege; and
a brother, Carl Luebbe of Grand Island.
Those also left to cherish his memory are numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren
and great-great-grandchildren.
His parents and a brother, Arnold Luebbe, also preceded him in death.
Harold received his education at District 42 School in Merrick County and Grand
Island Senior High. On June 15, 1941, he married Irene Vieth at St. Pauls Lutheran
Church in Grand Island. He was Secretary-Treasurer of District 32 of Merrick
County for many years. They farmed until 1967, when they moved to Grand Island.
In 1968, he worked for Chief Industries for 13 years, retiring in 1981. Following
his retirement, he worked part time, caring for the trees in the downtown business
district.
He was a member of St. Pauls Lutheran Church, where he was baptized and confirmed.
Harold enjoyed gardening and fishing, and loved to do volunteer work. He was
also a member of the Platt-Duetsche and the Eagles.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the church.
