Charles
'Charlie' McBride, 81, of Grand Island died Monday, May 26, 2008, at his
home with family by his side.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.
The Rev. Francis Curran will officiate. Burial of ashes will be in Westlawn
Memorial Park Cemetery with full military honors.
There will be a gathering of family and friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday at
the church, with a Christian wake service at 7.
All Faiths Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. McBride was born Nov. 3, 192, at Indianola to Dale and Mary (Colling) McBride.
Survivors of the immediate family include his wife, Mary; three daughters and
two sons-in-law, Fran and Jim Arends, Marilyn McBride, all of Grand Island and
Jan and Roger Albertson of Watertown, S.D.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Don
and Patty McBride and Ron 'Joe' and Kim McBride, all of Grand Island; two sisters
and a brother-in-law, Evelyn and Avery Winters of Indianola and Ruth Schuster
of Denver; and three brothers and sisters-in-law, Bill and Betty McBride of Colorado
Springs, Colo., Bob and Velma McBride of McCook and Jim and Ida McBride of Holbrook.
Those also left to cherish his memory are grandchildren, Rosie and Dennis Fruchtl,
Christi and Barry Burrows, J.J. and Kelly Arends, T.J. and Kim Arends, Shellie
and Troy Farrell, Dan and Mandy McBride, Doug and Elizabeth McBride, Jasmine
and Marcus Williams, Jesse Albertson, Shayanna Albertson, Joel Albertson, Sam
Albertson, and Dave and Niki Kirkland; and 18 great-grandchildren.
His parents and a sister, Roberta Randall, preceded him in death.
Charles was raised on a family farm near Indianola. He served in the United States
Army from 1945-46 in the Philippines. He married Mary Becker on July 17, 1948,
at Indianola. They moved to Grand Island in 1956. Charlie worked for the Agricultural
Services in Wood River for 37 years, retiring in 1993.
He is a member of Blessed Sacrament, American Legion and the Eagles. He enjoyed
spending time with his family and cooking Sunday morning breakfast for them.
Memorials are suggested to the church.
