Karen K. Mottin

Karen K. Mottin, 48, of Central City, formerly of Grand Island, died Monday, December 8, 2008.

Memorial service will be 3 p.m. Thursday at All Faiths Funeral Home.  Dan Naranjo will officiate.

As per her wishes, cremation has taken place.  There will be no visitation.

Karen was born January 4, 1960 at Fremont, NE the daughter of Norman and Charity (Abbott) Skibstead.

Survivors are a sister and brother-in-law, Kathy and Jim Rathman of Grand Island, brothers and sister-in-law, Tim Skibstead of Grand Island and Chris and Diane Skibstead of Ansley, NE.

Other survivors are her special friend, Don Allen of Grand Island and nieces, Hannah, Hollie, Hope and Sarah.  She is preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.

Karen was raised in Fremont and Grand Island, graduating from Grand Island Senior High, class of 1978.  She then when on to receive a degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1982. 

Karen worked as a social worker for Health and Human Services in the Grand Island office until 1990.  She enjoyed shopping, decorating and enjoyed the Holiday’s.
