Arlene
M. Paustian, 80, of Grand Island died Monday, Nov. 3, 2008, at St. Francis
Medical Center.
Services
will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at All Faiths Funeral Home. The Rev.
Lonnie Logan will officiate. Burial will be in the Grand Island Cemetery.
At Arlene's request, there will be family visitation only.
Mrs. Paustian was born Aug. 23, 1928, at Sutton to Fred and Lucy (Bird) Nuss.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald F. Paustian.
Survivors of the immediate family include a son and daughter-in-law, Max and
Pat Paustian of Farmington, N.M.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Valera and Bob
Fields of Omaha and Lori and Bob Walker of Davenport, Iowa; and three brothers
and sisters-in-law, Gerald and Pat Nuss of Aurora, Richard and Virginia Nuss
of Grand Island and Bob and Bobbie Nuss of Lexington, Kent.
Those also left to cherish her memory are grandchildren, Steven, John and David
Paustian.
She was also preceded in death by brothers, Donald and Larry Nuss and sisters,
Dorothy Melhorne and Suzanne Paulman.
Arlene was raised and received her education at Aurora. She was united in marriage
to Donald F. Paustian on June 15, 1945. They made their home in Grand Island.
She worked as a hostess at the Satellite Super Club and CAAP-Silas Mason Civil
Service.
She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, the Platt-Duetsche and Eagles
Auxiliary. She enjoyed slot machines, bingo, cards and loved children.
