K. Schultz
OMAHA,
David K. Schultz, 51, of Omaha, formerly of Grand Island, died Wednesday,
Oct. 1, 2008.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Gollaher Chapel of Trinity United
Methodist Church. The Rev. Nancy Lambert will officiate. Inurnment will
be at 1 p.m. Monday in the Central City Cemetery, with the Rev. Jack Sample
officiating. All Faiths Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Schultz was born April 25, 1957, at Grand Island to Robert and Donna Yenney
Schultz.
Survivors of the immediate family include his parents of Grand Island and a brother
and sister-in-law, Rob and Jerri Schultz of Lincoln.
Additional survivors include nieces, Kelli Anderson and Jamie Schultz; great-nephews,
Tate and Eliot; great-niece, Kaia; and his cat, Xaney.
David graduated from Grand Island Senior High Class of 1976. He received his
Bachelor of Philosophy degree from Grace College of The Bible in Omaha and his
Master of Philosophy degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. David was
a Professor of Philosophy at Grace College and later and at the time of his death
at Creighton University.
He enjoyed photography, reading, astronomy and was in the process of writing
his autobiography.
David has had health issues since birth, having received three kidney transplants,
one from his mother and one from his father. His final transplant was 28 years
ago, this blessing a gift from the family of a 16-year-old young man. Because
of his many accomplishments, David has been an inspiration to many.
Memorials are suggested to Creighton University Foundation or Trinity United
Methodist Church.
