Ardelle
E. Vang, 90, of Grand Island died Saturday, May 10, 2008, at St. Francis
Medical Center. Services
will be at
10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Grand
Island. There will be a 10:15 a.m. family prayer service. The Rev.
Royce Rinehart will officiate. Burial will be in Grand Island City
Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at All Faiths
Funeral Home. Mrs. Vang was born April 20, 1918, at Minden to Chris
and Carrie (Jacobsen) Petersen. She was preceded in death by her
husband, Harvey Vang; and a daughter, Karen Vang. Survivors of the
immediate family include three sons and daughters-in-law, Raymond
and Florence Vang of Grand Island, Kendall and Marge Vang of Aurora,
Colo., and Randy and Pam Vang of Wichita, Kan.; two daughters and
sons-in-law, Judy and Larry Wiegert and Patty and Larry Morris, all
of Grand Island; a brother and sister-in-law, Delray and Terri Petersen
of Scottsdale, Ariz.; and sisters-in-law, Louise Schwartz of Minden
and Evelyn Petersen of Cozad. Those also left to cherish her memory
are 14 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and many nieces and
nephews. She was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Ann Powers;
and four brothers and two sisters. Ardelle grew up in Minden, graduating
from Minden High School. She was united in marriage to Harvey Vang
on June 2, 1937. Following their marriage they settled in Grand Island.
She was employed by the ordnance plant for many years. Ardelle was
a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She enjoyed bingo, cards, fishing,
camping, cooking and spending time with her family. Memorials are
suggested to Trinity Lutheran Church, Grand Generation Center or
the family. |
