Donald "Donny" Voichoskie

Donald “Donny” Voichoskie, 59, of Grand Island, died Monday, December 8, 2008.

Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at All Faiths Funeral Home in Grand Island, with a Rosary recited at 9 a.m. Monday.  The Reverend James C. Schmitt will officiate.

Burial will be at 3:00 p.m. Monday at Ft. McPherson National Cemetery near Maxwell with full military honors.

Mr. Voichoskie was born September 14, 1949 at Osceola, NE the son of Thomas and Tessie (Bialas) Voichoskie.

Survivors are daughters, Tina Kieckhafer and her fiancé Travis of Grand Island, Tessa Peterson of Norfolk, NE; sons and a daughter-in-law, Troy and Jeanne Voichoskie of Norfolk, NE, Tom Voichoskie of Norfolk, NE; his mother and stepfather, Tessie and Marion Slusarski of Columbus, NE; sisters and brothers-in-law, Norma and Louie Kontor of Columbus, Bertilla and Dwayne Korte of Fullerton, NE, Chris and Tony Babb of Fullerton; brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert and Shelli Voichoskie of Silver Creek and Chuck and Debbie Voichoskie of Columbus; stepson Brody and his wife Misty and stepdaughter Britney; and stepbrother and stepsisters, Conrad and Cheryl Slusarski, Sharon and Phil Ernst and Carol Grievncevic.

Other survivors are grandchildren, Trenton, Carlee, Sierra, Masyn, Nicholas, Cheyenne, Jon, Kenzie and Tori.  His father preceded him in death.

Donald was raised on a farm near Fullerton graduating from Clarks High School.  He served in the U.S. Army from 1969-1970.  He married Cindy Hoopes, Penny Burns and later Julie Schleicher.  When he was able, he volunteered at the Grand Island Veterans Administration Hospital.
