Anna
M. Weber, 88, of Grand Island died Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2008, at St. Francis
Medical Center.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Grand
Island, with a family prayer service at 10:15. The Rev. Royce Rinehart
will officiate. Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the Rose Hill Cemetery
at Palmer.
Visitation will be one hour before services. All Faiths Funeral Home is in charge
of arrangements.
Mrs. Weber was born May 24, 1920, in Merrick County to Arthur and Katherine (Holtz)
Kanter.
Her husband, Lynn Weber, died in 1966.
Survivors of the immediate family include a daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen
and Arthur Beed of Alda; three sons and two daughters-in-law, William and Kathy
Weber of Bellevue, Thomas and JoEllen Weber of Lincoln and Daniel Weber of Scottsdale,
Ariz.; and a brother, Clarence Kanter of Palmer.
Other survivors are 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and three great-great
grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her parents, three brothers,
Glen, Edwin and Harold, and a grandson, Joshua Weber.
Anna was raised on a family farm in Howard County receiving her education at
Gage Valley Country School and graduated from Palmer High School.
She was united in marriage to Lynn Weber in June 1943. They farmed south of Palmer
until 1960, when they moved into Palmer. Following her husbands death in 1966,
she and her children moved to Grand Island.
Anna enjoyed traveling, gardening, flowers, birds and most of all spending time
with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is a member of Trinity Lutheran
Church; the church's Ruth Society and volunteered at the Central Plains
Chapter of the American Red Cross.
Memorials are suggested to the Central Plains Chapter of the American Red Cross
or to the church.
