Jean
Phyllis White, 74, of Grand Island died Friday, Aug. 15, 2008, at St. Francis
Medical Center in Grand Island after a long illness.

A memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at First Christian Church in
Grand Island. The Rev. Dr. Scott Taylor will officiate.
A gathering of family and friends will be 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the All Faiths
Funeral Home.
Burial will be at a later date.
Mrs. White was born Jan. 30, 1934, in Omaha to Lester and Adelia (Tritch) Meisinger.
Survivors of the immediate family include her husband, Bill; two sons and their
wives, Jeff and Mary White and Tim and Shelley White, all of Grand Island; her
twin brother, Dean Meisinger of Plattsmouth; and a sister, Elizabeth Dyer of
Lincoln.
Also surviving area three grandsons; David, Benjamin and Tyler White, all of
Grand Island.
Jean was raised on the family farm and attended a rural school located on the
farmstead through the eighth grade, graduating from Plattsmouth High School in
1951.
She married William G. White on Dec. 26, 1953, in Plattsmouth.
They lived in Salina, Kan., while her husband was in the military, moving to
Lincoln in 1955. They moved to Grand Island in 1971. She was secretary to the
City/County Regional Planning Commission for 14 years and was co-owner with her
son Tim of Rinder Printing Co. before retiring in 2001.
Jean was an active member and served as an elder and on the Diaconate of First
Christian Church.
She is a past honored queen of Jobs Daughters, a member of the Eastern Star and
member of PEO. She served on the board of directors of the Grand Island chapters
of the American Red Cross and the United Way.
She served on several committees, including the Public Schools Infrastructure
Review Committee and the City Conditional Use Committee.
She was preceded in death by an infant grandson.
Memorials may be made to the Grand Island Community Foundation, in memory of
Jean P. White.
