"Willie" Wilhelmina A. Wiese

Wilhelmina A. “Willie” Wiese, 87, of Grand Island, died Monday February 18, 2008 at Bickford Cottage.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Trinity Lutheran Church.  The Reverend Royce Rinehart and Vicar Steven Newton will officiate.  There will be a family prayer service at 10:15 a.m.  Private family burial will be in the Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 3-7 p.m. Tuesday at All Faiths Funeral Home.

Willie was born September 28, 1920 at Leigh, NE the daughter of Oscar and Anna (Siebrasse) Hild.  She moved to Grand Island when she was fourteen and graduated from Grand Island Senior High, class of 1938.  She was united in marriage to Arnold Wiese on February 16, 1941 at Grand Island.

She was a faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church, serving with the Ruth Society, Lutheran Layman League, and Lutheran Women Missionary League and was a past chairperson of the Liederkranz.  She enjoyed playing cards and volunteered with her husband at the Nebraska Veterans Home.

Those left to cherish her memory are son and daughter-in-law, Ron and Lois Wiese of Denham Springs, LA, daughter and son-in-law, Patti and Chuck Bluschke of Grand Island and a brother and his wife, Melvin and Betty Hild of Overland Park, KS.

Other survivors are grandchildren, Chad and Michelle Bluschke, Tami and Steve Chandler, Ryan and Paula Wiese, Gretchen and Ryan Brady and great grandchildren, Nolan Wiese, Jolee Wiese, Kayla, Stephanie and Andrew Chandler, Paul and Danielle Curry, Sarah and Megan Bluschke.

In addition to her husband Arnold, who preceded her on November 22, 2003, her parents, brothers Marvin and William Hild and sister Roma Hardekopf also preceded her in death.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Trinity Lutheran School Foundation and Heartland Lutheran High School.
