Charles
Lynn Wilson, 74, of Grand Island died Monday, April 28, 2008, at his home.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Evangelical Free Church. The Rev.
Curtis Holzworth will officiate. Cremation will take place following the
service. Private family burial of ashes will be in Hampton Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at All Faiths Funeral Home.
Mr. Wilson was born Jan. 2, 1934, at Bradshaw to Clifford and Myrtle (Misner)
Wilson.
Survivors of the immediate family include his wife, Doris; a son and daughter-in-law,
Charles Lynn Wilson II and his wife, Rose; three daughters and sons-in-law, Janis
and John Fredrickson of Schuyler, Michelle Stafford of Central City and Amy and
Dustin Javorsky of Sioux City, Iowa, a brother, Steve Wilson of Commerce City,
Colo.; and two sisters, Barbara Aker of Anaheim, Calif., and Sandra Carstens
of Mills, Wyo.
Other survivors are grandchildren, Sara and Steve White, Michael Stafford, Matthew
Stafford, Holly Fredrickson, Jack Fredrickson, Dylan Javorsky, Tyler Javorsky
and Payton Javorsky.
His parents, an infant brother, Neal and a brother, William, preceded him in
death.
Charles was raised and received his education in Bradshaw and Grand Island. He
was united in marriage to Doris Larson on July 7, 1956, at Aurora. They made
their home in Grand Island, where he worked as a house painter, worked at St.
Francis Medical Center, as a firefighter for the Grand Island Municipal Airport,
the Grand Island City Water Department and the City County Health Department
where he retired in 1997.
He attended the Evangelical Free Church, enjoyed hunting and fishing in his earlier
years and later he enjoyed target shooting.
Memorials are suggested to the church.
