Dick Alexander

Dick Alexander, 70, of Grand Island, died Thursday, December 24, 2009 at Saint Francis Medical Center.

Service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at All Faiths Funeral Home Chapel.  Reverend Matthew Fowler will officiate.  Burial will be in Grand Island City Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Monday at All Faiths Funeral Home.

Mr. Alexander was born August 14, 1939 at Grand Island, the son of Ray and Irene (Scheibe) Alexander.

Survivors are his wife, Koreen; daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Juan Ayala of Palm Bay, Florida; son, Scott Alexander of Dallas, TX and brother and sister-in-law, Ron and Eunice Alexander of Grand Island.

Other survivors are grandchildren, Danica and Logan Ayala; sister-in-law and her husband, Marsha and George Medbery of Grand Island and brother-in-law, Doug Peterson of Grand Island.

His parents and son, Troy Alexander preceded him in death.

Dick was raised and received his education in Grand Island, graduating from Grand Island Senior High, class of 1958.

He was united in marriage to Kareen Peterson on July 14, 1979.  Dick owned and operated Vintage Body Shop from 1976 until retiring in 2005.

He was a member of Faith United Methodist Church and Nebraska Skeet Association.  Dick enjoyed shooting skeet and was a fan of stock car racing, having painted many race cars, as well as, being a sponsor. 

Memorials are suggested to Faith United Methodist Church or donor’s choice.
