Nadine Berta

Nadine Berta, 93, of Grand Island, formerly of Bridgeport, died Thursday, August 20, 2009 at Riverside Lodge.

Graveside service will be Tuesday, 11:00 a.m. mountain time in the Oregon Trail Memorial Cemetery at Bridgeport, Nebraska.  Dan Naranjo will officiate.

There will be no visitation.  All Faiths Funeral Home of Grand Island is serving the family.

Mrs. Berta was born June 29, 1916 at Bridgeport the daughter of Clement C. and Annie (Lucas) McKibbin.

Her husband Joseph Berta preceded her in death in 1995.

Survivors are a son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Billie Berta of Grand Island and brother, Harold McKibbin of Scottsbluff, NE.

Other survivors are grandchildren and their spouses, Brad and Melissa Berta, Bret and Myra Berta, Brandon and Stephanie Berta and Jerri and Scott Cutrer; eleven great-grandchildren and three great great-grandchildren.  In addition to her husband she is welcomed into heaven by her parents; son, Lanny ‘Mac’ Berta and sister, Maxine Moriaty.

Nadine was raised in Bridgeport where she graduated from high school, class of 1933.  She was united in marriage to Joseph Andrew Berta on February 20, 1937.  They farmed near Bridgeport.  She worked for thirty years for Bern Coulter Attorney’s office and for twenty years for Dr. George Post. 

Memorials are suggested to St. Francis Hospice in Grand Island.
