Lila Jean Boltz

Lila Jean Boltz, 80, of Grand Island, died Sunday, October 11, 2009 at Wedgewood Care Center in Grand Island.

Service will be 10:00 A.M. Wednesday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.  Reverend William Pavuk will officiate.  Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 4-7 at All Faiths Funeral Home.

Lila was born November 21, 1928 in Grand Island, the daughter of Harry and Lillie (Baasch) Scheel.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 62 years, Maynard; son and daughter-in-law, Danny and Judy Boltz of Grand Island; daughter, Karen Autrey of Lincoln and brother and sister-in-law, Harold and Fern Scheel of Apple Valley, CA.

Other survivors include four grandchildren, Angie Varela, Major Jeffrey Autry, Cody Boltz and Megan Boltz and three great grandsons.

Lila was preceded in death by her parents and sister and brother-in-law, Aldeen and Lester Baasch.

Lila grew up in Grand Island, graduating from Grand Island Senior High, Class of 1946.  She was united in marriage to Maynard A. Boltz on June 15, 1947.  Following their marriage, the couple made Grand Island their home.  Lila was employed for the City of Grand Island in billing.  She was very involved in Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts when her children were young and enjoyed traveling with her husband over the years.  She liked ceramics, sewing, decorating cakes for her grandchildren and made jelly for Stuhr Museum.
