Robert Fagan
W. Robert Fagan, 85, of Grand Island, died Friday,
February 27, 2009 at St. Francis Medical Center.
Service
will be 10 a.m. Monday at St. Leo’s Catholic Church. The
Reverends Jack
Rademacher and James O’Kane will officiate. Entombment
of ashes will be in the Westlawn Memorial Park Columbarium.
There will be no visitation. All Faiths Funeral Home
is in charge of arrangements.
Robert was born November 2, 1923
in Grand Island the son of William and Marie (Baker) Fagan. He grew up on the Taylor
Ranch northwest of Grand Island and graduated from St. Mary’s High
School in 1941. He was united in marriage to Darlene Puncochar on October
11, 1949 in Ord, Nebraska. They lived northwest of Grand Island
where he was in the cattle business and farmed during his lifetime. He
retired in 1983.
He enjoyed big game hunting, wildlife
photography and the outdoors. He was active in Crane Meadows Nature Center
where he served on the Board of Directors. He was a member of St.
Leo’s Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus #1159 and Riverside
Country Club. Robert treasured the time spent with his family.
Those left to cherish his memory
are his wife, Darlene; sons, Don Fagan of Omaha and Tim Fagan of Cody,
Wyoming and daughter, Kathy Frank of Lewistown, Montana, grandchildren,
Billy Fagan, Daniel Fagan, Ryan Fagan, Alison FitzSimmons and Matt Frank. .
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Memorials are suggested to St. Leo’s
Catholic Church, Central Catholic High School or St. Francis Medical
Center.
