Jamie Lee Gewecke

Jamie Lee Gewecke, 24, of Grand Island, died April 27, 2009.

A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at All Faiths Funeral Home Chapel.  Dan Naranjo will officiate.  Following the service, burial will be at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.

A gathering of Jaime’s family and friends will be from 5-7 Thursday at All Faiths Funeral Home.

Jamie was born August 18, 1984, at Grand Island, the son of Jim and Vicki (Duncan) Gewecke.

Jamie grew up in Grand Island, attending Shoemaker Elementary and Westridge Middle Schools.  He graduated from Northwest High School, class of 2001, and went on to attend Central Community College.

He was employed by Case New Holland and at the time of his death was an employee of Standard Iron, Inc.  Jamie enjoyed cars and motorcycles, was a Nebraska Husker fan and liked watching movies, playing video games and cards.

Those left to cherish his memory are his father, Jim Gewecke of Wood River; his mother, Vicki Gewecke of Doniphan; a brother, Aaron Gewecke of Lincoln; grandparents, Betty Duncan and Ivan and Evelyn Gewecke, all of Grand Island; uncles and aunts, John and Mari Gewecke of Lincoln, Kim and Connie Duncan of Grand Island, Dorene and Bud Cravener of Bailey, CO, Renae Feldt of O’Neil, Tamie Duncan of O’Neil, Melody Steele of MO and Greg and Roxanne Duncan of Grand Island; numerous cousins and many friends.

He is preceded in death by his grandfather, L. Myron Duncan.

A memorial fund will be established in Jamie’s name.
