Jerry D. Greenwood, 74, of Grand
Island, died Thursday, December 31, 2009 at Tiffany Square Center.
Service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, January 4, 2010 at Peace Lutheran Church. Reverend Michael Reiners
will officiate. Cremation will take place following the service.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Sunday at Peace Lutheran Church.
All Faiths Funeral Home is serving the family.
Mr. Greenwood was born February 1, 1935 at Grand Island the son of Elmer and Florence (Stauss) Greenwood.
Survivors are his wife Marcella; children and their spouses,
Vickie and Karl Meyer of Huston, TX, Karen and Tom Blake of Bellaire,
Florida, Ken and Marcie Beyersdorf of Tucson, Arizona, Kirk and Kim
Beyersdorf of Goodyear, Arizona and Jeffrey and Brittney Greenwood
of Fort Meyers, Florida and sister, Lois Nielsen of Lincoln.
Other survivors are grandchildren, Phillip Zozaya, Jerry ‘J.D.’ Christie,
Ali, Jeffrey and Andrea Meyer, Ryan Blue, Chase and Alec Beyersdorf,
Joseph, Addison and Taylor Greenwood
and great-grandchild, Xavier Zozaya. His parents preceded him
in death.
Jerry was raised on a farm near Alda. He graduated
from Alda High
School then attended the Grand Island Business School. He was united in marriage
to Marcella Bosselman on March 12, 1977.
Jerry was a farmer and an Insurance Agent-Broker for
Ozark National. He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church, the Platt-Duetsche Society, Ducks
Unlimited, Pheasants Forever and the Turkey Federation. Jerry
enjoyed hunting, playing cards and spending time with his family
and friends.
