Richard J. Hauman, 68, of Grand Island, died Wednesday, September 9, 2009
at St. Francis Medical Center.
Service will be 11 a.m. Monday at All Faiths Funeral
Home. Dan Naranjo will officiate. Burial will be in the Grand Island Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. till service time on Monday.
Mr. Hauman was born September 10, 1940 at Moline, Illinois the son of Desure and Viola (Brockogge)
Hauman.
Survivors are his wife Charlene of 34 years; daughter,
Brenda Saldecki of Holdrege, NE; step-daughters and their spouses, Betty and Alan McComb
of Grand Island, Cara and Keven Russell
of Lincoln and Sue and Ken Jolkowski
of Omaha and brother, Donny
Hauman.
Other survivors are 17 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
His parents and granddaughter, Tannas Jolkowski welcomed
him into heaven.
Richard served in the U.S. Marine Corp during the Vietnam
War. Following his military service, he enjoyed working with
horses. He enjoyed many different aspects of being a horse
trainer. He also loved working outdoors. He was a landscaper,
and was a tree trimmer. He enjoyed a variety of careers during
his lifetime.
Richard was united in marriage to Charlene Gress in 1975. He
had a great passion for his wife and family. He especially
enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren introducing them to
race horses, gardening, woodworking, farm animals and sharing stories.
He had a wonderful sense of humor. His memory will be treasured
by many.
