Barbara
Jean Karle, 77, of Grand Island, died on
March 11, 2009 in Hutchinson, Kansas.
Memorial services will be Saturday, March 14th at
10:00 AM at the All Faith’s Funeral Home, Grand Island, NE. Family will host a reception from
9:00 AM until service time at the funeral home on Saturday. A
private family inurnment will take place at a later time.
She was born June 23, 1931 to Roy and Helen Maurine (Smith)
Boroff in Alda.
On December 3, 1952 she married Robert Bruce “Pete” Karle. They
made their home in Grand
Island. Barb was employed by Hornady
Manufacturing as an inspector.
Pete and Barb had one child, Christi (Glen) Grunwald,
of Hutchinson, KS,
2 granddaughters, Heather Johansen Peterson, Hutchinson, KS, and Tara
Johansen Murphy, Wichita, KS.
Additional survivors include 3 great grandchildren, a beloved sister,
Phyllis Manolidis, & numerous nieces and nephews. While
her family may be small, her list of friends is endless.
Barb’s pastimes included playing cards, watching
the Huskers, antiquing, traveling, & entertaining. She
spent the last two years in the loving care of the Country House
Residence, Grand Island.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband,
and sister, Gladys Kosinski.
In lieu of flowers, please send memorials to the Mid
Plains Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association, in care of the
funeral home.
Kansas arrangements
