Roy
Miller
Roy Miller, 92, of rural Phillips,
died Sunday, November 8, 2009 at Tiffany Square Center.
Service will be 3 p.m. Thursday at
the United Congregational Church in Grand Island. Reverend Lonnie Logan will
officiate. Cremation will take place following the service.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m.
Wednesday at All Faiths Funeral Home.
Mr. Miller was born October 23, 1917
at Cameron, Nebraska the son of Harry and Lucy (Stinson)
Miller.
Survivors are his wife Elenora; son
and daughter-in-law, Larry and Karen Miller of Grand Island; daughter
and son-in-law, Janet and Dave Gilleylen of Arvada, Colorado; stepchildren
and their spouses, Allen and Joan Ackerman of Tampa, Florida, Dean
and Darlene Ackerman of Hastings, Karen and Duane Gruener of Phillips
and Janelle and Dennis Stelk of Phillips and sister, Vera Jacobson
of St. Libory.
Other survivors are grandchildren,
Barry Kissinger, Michelle Kissinger, Sean Miller and Aron Miller
and six great-grandchildren.
He was welcomed into heaven by his
parents; sisters, Edna McFarland, Margie Gutschow, Irene Krueger,
Mary Frederickson and Lucy Bell Bachman and brothers, Verl, Robert
and Frank Miller.
Roy resided
and worked in the Grand
Island area all of his life. He loved
living on the farm. Roy was
a diesel mechanic by day and farmer by night. He was united
in marriage to Elenora Ackerman on February 6, 1992.
Memberships include United Congregational
Church, Platt-Duetsche, Eagles Club and the Liederkranz. He
enjoyed dancing and later in life spending time at the Grand Generation Center.
