J. Mueller
John J. Mueller, 70, of Grand Island,
died Wednesday, December 9, 2009 at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center in Lincoln.
Service will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Blessed Sacrament
Catholic Church in Grand
Island. The Reverend Todd Philipsen
will officiate.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday with a parish
wake service at 7 p.m. at All Faiths Funeral Home.
Mr. Mueller was born May 4, 1939 at Fargo, North Dakota the
son of John and Elizabeth Katharine (Illies) Mueller.
Survivors are his wife Barbara; daughters and sons-in-law,
Susan and Paul Raytick of Cary, North Carolina, Angie Day of Gilbert,
Arizona, Deanna Mueller of Peoria, Arizona, Jamalee and Damon Scaggs
of Lincoln and Beckie and Evan Bees of Omaha; sisters and brother-in-law,
Sister Eleanor Mueller of Mt St Benedict, Crookston, MN, Christina
Runger of Westminster, CO, Dorothy Pavlik of Yreka, CA, Marian and
John Wolff of Chicago, IL; brothers and sisters-in-law, August and
Joan Mueller of Binghamton, NY, Vernon and Sharon Mueller of
Fargo, ND, Robert and Sharon Mueller of Monticello, MN, Richard and
Linda Mueller of Elk River, MN and James and Marilyn Mueller of Moorhead,
MN and brother-in-law, Donald Whetsel.
Other survivors are grandchildren, Matthew Raytick, Hanna
Raytick, Brian Raytick, Tahlia Scaggs and Julian Scaggs; mother-in-law,
Thelma Chase of Lemoyne, NE; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law,
Margie and Vern Schluterbusch of Bridgeport, NE, Carol and
Bill Juelfs of Bridgeport, NE and Bob and Stephanie Chase of
Lincoln, NE and many nieces and nephews.
He was welcomed into heaven by his parents of Mahnomen, MN; brothers,
Cyril Mueller of Canada,
Bernard Mueller of Mahnomen, MN, and sisters, Helen Whetsel of St. Paul, MN and Theresa
Partridge of Minneapolis, MN; father-in-law, Sidney Chase of Lemoyne,
NE and brothers-in-law, Ray Runger of Westminster, CO, Frank Pavlik
of Yreka, CA and Thomas Partridge of Minneapolis, MN.
John was raised and received his education in Mahnomen, MN, graduating from high school in 1957. He
received his Bachelors of Science degree from Moorhead State University. He married Barbara Chase
on September 10, 1965 at Dilworth, MN. They
moved to Grand Island in
1971.
John was a claims adjudicator for Unemployment Insurance
Department for the State of Nebraska retiring in 1999. He was also
employed at Sears.
He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church,
enjoyed gardening and tinkering with engines.
A memorial fund will be established in his memory.
