Raymond
Ottemoeller, 88, of Grand Island,
died Monday, June 8, 2009 at Tiffany Square.
Service will be 1 p.m. Thursday in the Gollaher Chapel
of Trinity United Methodist Church. The Reverend Del Roper will
officiate. Burial of ashes will be in the Wiegert Cemetery.
There will be a gathering of family and friends from
5-7 p.m. Wednesday at All Faiths Funeral Home.
Mr. Ottemoeller was born November 20, 1920 at Grand Island the son of
John and Bertha (Vogel) Ottemoeller.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Lillian;
son, John Ottemoeller of Lincoln, son and daughter-in-law, Gene and
Doreen Ottemoeller of Bismarck, ND and daughter and son-in-law, Diana
and Gordon Knuth of St. Paul, NE.
Other survivors are five grandchildren, Darla Houdek,
Debora Houdek, Denise Campbell, Christopher and Benjamin Ottemoeller;
and eight great-grandchildren, Michael, Jeremy and Brandon Houdek,
Jesse, Casey and Danny Houdek, and Nicholas and Mathew Campbell.
His infant son Billy; parents; grandson, Brian Ottemoeller;
brother, Elmer and sister, Marie Mohr preceded him in death.
Ray was born on a farm northeast of Grand Island. He attended
School District 56 in Hall County. On October 11, 1942 he was
united in marriage to Lillian Bockmann. They farmed northeast
of Grand Island until moving into Grand Island in 1965. He
then worked for New Holland retiring in 1985.
He is a member of the Platt Duetsche. Ray enjoyed
family gatherings, was an avid reader, enjoyed listening to polka
music and going for rides in the country.
