Linda
B. Perkins, 63, of Grand Island, died Saturday, August 8, 2009 with her
family by her side, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Service
will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Trinity United Methodist Church.
The Reverend Jay Vetter will officiate. Burial of ashes will be at
Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Gathering of family and friends will be from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at All
Faiths Funeral Home.
Mrs. Perkins was born March 4, 1946 at Central City the daughter of
Lumier and Erma (VanPelt) Kucera.
She is survived by her husband Charles ‘Chuck’ Perkins;
daughters, Cory Perkins and Bill Rork of Grand Island, Melissa and husband
Brent Weston of Hastings, Teri and husband Christopher Brown of Grand
Island and Alissa and husband Matt Hodtwalker of Grand Island and son,
Andrew Perkins of Grand Island; brothers and sister-in-law, Donald Kucera
of Big Springs, TX and Larry and Barb Kucera of Grand Island and sister,
Darlene Fowler of Hordville, NE.
Those also left to cherish her memory are grandchildren, Heather, Dillon,
James, Tristan and Isabelle. Her parents preceded her in death.
Linda was raised in Archer attending school in Archer and Central City.
She was united in marriage to Charles Perkins on August 3, 1963 at Archer.
They recently celebrated 46 years of a wonderful marriage.
Linda was a wonderful wife and mother and worked with her husband for
almost 30 years at American Family Insurance. Her memberships include
Trinity United Methodist Church, Epsilon Sigma Alpha Sorority, and Hall
County Extension Clubs. She enjoyed playing bridge, quilting, gardening,
dancing, cooking and other crafts. She loved her family dearly and her
memory will be treasured by many.
