Shirley Ann Schroder

Shirley Ann Schroder, 73, of Grand Island, died Friday, February 27, 2009 at St. Francis Skilled Care.

Graveside service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.  Dan Naranjo will officiate.

There will be no visitation.  All Faiths Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Schroder was born December 25, 1935 at Grand Island the daughter of Louis and Ethel (Hanson) Rauert.

Survivors are her husband Robert; sons and daughter-in-laws, Bruce and Laura Schroder of Grand Island, Neal and Sondra Schroder of Grand Island; daughters and sons-in-law, Lynne and Daniel Johnson of Broken Bow and Pamela and Bob Peters of Loup City.   

Other survivors are grandchildren, Eric Johnson, Matt Peters, Lea Martin, Robbie Johnson, Lacy Hellwege, Adam Schroder, Chelsey Schroder, Tessa Schroder and Tjaden Schroder and twelve great grandchildren.

Her parents preceded her in death.

Shirley was raised in Grand Island graduating from Grand Island Senior High, class of 1953.  She was united in marriage to Robert Schroder on November 15, 1953 at Grand Island.  They lived in Grand Island, Dannebrog, Sherman Lake and then back to Grand Island.

She worked at Ace Hardware and later retired from Wheelers.  Shirley loved antiquing and watching old black and white movies.  Mostly, she loved being with her family and caring for them.   

In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the Cancer Society, March of Dimes, and donor’s choice or to the family.
