Pauline L. Schroeder

Pauline L. Schroeder, 85, of Grand Island, formerly of Amherst, died Tuesday, June 09, 2009 at Golden Living Center at Park Place.

Service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at All Faiths Funeral Home Chapel.  Dan Naranjo will officiate.  Burial will be in the Shelton Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Schroeder was born February 9, 1924 at Kearney, NE the daughter of Harold and Mary Margaret (Devall) Kerwood.  Following the death of her mother, she was adopted by John and Jessie (Devall) Gustafson as an infant. 

Survivors are her husband Eli; sons and daughters-in-law, John and Carol Schroeder of Broomfield, CO and Dale and Viola Schroeder of Spearfish, SD; and daughter and son-in-law, Lynda and Tom Tambling of Grand Island. 

Other survivors are 12 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

Pauline was raised in Shelton graduating from Shelton High School, class of 1941.  She was united in marriage to Eli Schroeder on December 16, 1941.  They lived in the Wood River area, Holdrege and Amherst areas.  They moved to Grand Island in 2005.

Together with her husband they farmed their entire married life.  She loved to cook for her family and enjoyed polka music.  She took great pride in being a wife, mother and grandmother.

Her parents preceded her in death.
