David R. Valencia,
49, of Grand Island died unexpectedly Sunday, July 12, 2009.
Service will be 2
p.m. Saturday at All Faiths Funeral Home. The Reverend Jeffrey
Rice will officiate. Burial of ashes will be in the Grand Island
Cemetery.
There will be a gathering
of family and friends from 7-9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Mr. Valencia was born
January 29, 1960 in Junction City, KS, the son of Ray Valencia and
Ella (Britt) Grasso.
Those left to cherish his memory
are his mother, Ella Grasso and father, Ray Valencia and his special
friend, Phyllis Rice, all of Grand Island; three brothers and their
spouses, Mark Valencia of Kansas City, MO, Bryan and Sharee Valencia
of The Woodlands, TX and Adam and Tami Valencia also of The Woodlands;
and a sister and her husband, Rebecca and Nick Maggiore of Renton,
WA.
Other survivors include twelve nieces
and nephews, Morgan, Josiah, Joseph, Jackson, Reid, Riley, Abby, Evan, Katie, Georgia, Anisa and Ethan; and his
faithful companion, Speckles.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents.
David grew up and attended school
at Junction City. He
moved to Grand Island in
1976 attending Grand Island Senior High for his senior year and graduated,
Class of 1977.
He has been employed for many years
by Fed Ex, owning and operating several Fed Ex routes. David
was a great boss and good to his employees.
He enjoyed playing cards with friends,
fishing, and cooking out with his friends and family. He will
be remembered as a fun loving guy.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are
suggested to the Central NE Humane Society.
