Daniel R. Christensen
(Butch) Daniel R. Christensen, 63, of Fountain Hills, Arizona, formerly
of Grand Island, died March 24 th at the Hospice Care Center in Scottsdale,
Arizona.
Memorial service will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic
Church in Grand Island. Reverend Todd Philipsen will officiate.
In honor of Mr. Christensen request cremation has taken place with
burial of ashes in Nebraska at a later date. All Faiths Funeral
Home is serving the family.
Mr. Christensen was born October 15, 1946 at San Francisco, CA.
Survivors of the immediate family are his wife, Lianne; daughter, Melissa
Christensen and granddaughter, Breanna; son and daughter-in-law, Corey
and Fay Christensen all of Fountain Hills, Arizona; his mother, Darlene
Christensen of Grand Island; twin sister and brother-in-law, Sandy and
Bob Meinecke of Cody, Wyoming; sisters and brother-in-law, Debbie Christensen,
Cynthia and Allan Payne, Pam Christensen all of Grand Island; brother
and sister-in-law, Greg and Louise Christensen of Grand Island; sister,
Pat Perrie of Holstein, Nebraska and nieces, nephews, other relatives
and friends.
His father Marshall Christensen; brother-in-law, Ron Perrie and nephew,
Wayne Cornell and grandparents welcomed into heaven.
Daniel attended elementary school at Blessed Sacrament and graduated
from Central Catholic, class of 1965. A short time after graduation
he entered the United States Army.
Following the military he was employed by Lincoln Equipment Company
then Mettenbrink Electric. He married Lianne Gallentine at Blessed Sacrament. Later
he was employed by ECI in 1985 moving to Fountain Hills when they opened
a branch office. Late in 1987 he worked for State Electric where
he was supervisor until his illness.
When Daniel was young his summers and vacation from school was spent
at his grandparents’ farm where he learned to love farming. He
continued that love for his garden and took pride in his yard. He
was the kind of person who touched a lot of people through his work and
his friends and family. He will be forever missed and loved!
